Mommie Fin here, writing on behalf of Jimbo..

It's very hard for us here as we didn't received not even a single phone call after all the posters and flyers had been pasted and posted in our neighbourhood.. And it's sad to say that not long after the lost, Barney, our senior cat (mother to Hiro, Possum and Coconut) was missing as well.. We were so broken hearted, it's too sad to even post an update.. Jimbo had been very quiet, and the rest of the cats were not as happy as before.. I didn't open this site as it's too sad to even look at the photos of my cats..I even got tears on my eyes right now..It takes a lot of courage to type this entry, but I have to do it..Thank you so much for the prayers and thoughts, we appreciate all of it..
I dreamed of them almost everyday.. I have them in my prayers everyday without fail.. As time goes by, I still put up hopes for their returns.. Although it sounds impossible, I just can't get them out of my mind..
But Just recently I saw in our local news where a syndicate of exporting cats to China had been busted.. That makes me even more sadder..Were mine among those cats?? I don't know.. If they were dead, I want to bury them..But they were gone, just like that..No signs, nothing!

Thanks once again for the prayers.. Our pain is beyond words.. I guess there will be no post for the time being..It's too painful.. Jimbo sleeps all day, she eats very little as well.. Not in her usual self in the past 2 months..

Help! We lost Hiro ,Possum, Coffee and Coconut!! - an update

This is so hard! We were playing together this morning. They were with us during lunch, but they never come back for dinner.. Wher e can they be.. 4 of them at the same time?? We were so dumbfounded..The whole family were looking for them but it's getting darker... They never answered when we ccalled the names.. When it's dark, wild dogs will be roaming the neighbourhood..It's very dangerous out there.. How could this be possible! .Were they kidnapped? Normally people send cats to our house, why would peopl e want them? Besides, they hated strangers.they have sharp nails too.they can always scratch the ba d people, right.. We heard about the foreign workers who hunt, kill, and eat cats and dogs in this town, but not in our neighbourhood. God! we dont know what to do. they never go far..its either inside the house or in the backyard.. they are scared of the sounds of cars or motorcycles. where can they be.. Mommie finn had been crying so bad! we prayed and we prayed for their safty, for them to come back.the search will co ntinue tomorrow morning.

oh please please please pray for them..

Mommie Finn start the search early this morning with her aunty n niece in the neighbourhood. Photos were shown, name were given, anything that will lead to my friends. They searched the alleys where lots of strays live there..They had been asking the neighbours, but there's no sign of them at all.. at all!! where can they be..Catnapped? Maybe..Our possible theory is maybe they were catnapped and been put inside the car..

there are cases where cats were being catnapped to be given to the foreign workers as well.

Well, I can't post as I promised as it was raining heavily on Saturday. I cuddled up with Mommie Finn while she was enjoying her book. She was so deep into her reading, I guess I just sleep the whole day :) But Sunday was bright and shiny! Everybody decided to go out and play and enjoy the sun (and water too) !! The swans were enjoying themselves as well!

It was raining the night before.

The weather is good today!! It seems everybody decided to stay outside to enjoy the sun! Mommie Finn's getting better but needs her medication every 6 hours. Our neighbour got themselves 4 swans. They seems hungry all the time!! And they eat everything too! Mommie Finn's niece Shuhada loves the outdoor as well and she's having a blast with us!! What a Saturday! An update on Mingo Mingo. We found out that he's a actually a she!! Never mind about that, mistake's done :p Anyway, she's doing good, she eats a lot and plays a lot too!! We're so happy to see her like that, active and getting fatter as well :) And oh boy, did i tell you she's really fast? In everything!! I'm fast, all right, but she's waaaayyy faster than all of us here!! Here's the latest photos of Mingo Mingo.

Oh dear..Mommie Finn went for a vacation again..I'm off to the vet to stay with him and missing my family a lot!! Anyway, I'm back again! I would like to share some photos of the place that Mommie Finn went. It was called "Kuching" (pronounced as 'koo-ching') which means cats! It's locally known as The Cat City and it's a great city in Sarawak, East Malaysia.. There are cats everywhere!! Statues, souvenirs, museums, everything!! That will definitely make us the "kuchings" very proud, don't you friends ? :D Here are some interesting photos:

I saw Mommie Finn was reading this article about Cats and Heights..She must be very worried as I'm having the habit of climbing up to high places.. She got every reason to worry as I love high place but I'm afraid of going (jumping) down.. :( Hiro had retired from this already, he told me that he's not interested in going up anymore. It got to do with his weight, so he said..

..."If your cat has developed a disturbing habit of climbing your bookcases and shelves, frequently causing things to fall on the floor, then you must have realized by now that getting a cat climber is probably in order. Why do cats climb? Why do they seem to enjoy settling on heights?

Cats are known to be fond of perching. But their preference for high places is not just a silly habit. According to animal behaviorists, cats like heights because from there, they can get a better view of their surroundings. Being territorial animals, they like to survey their territory once in a while and note the movements of people and other animals in the place. Furthermore, being natural predators, heights give cats a good vantage point where they can quietly watch and wait for an opportune time to pounce on their prey. This behavior is similar to that of wilder cats, such as a leopard. Perching gives cats a feeling of security.

Generally, cats are not afraid of heights. A cat’s body is naturally designed to allow it to fall safely from a particular height. It was a fine Sunday morning today. Uncle Bob decided to have a stroll in the neighbourhood. I'm scared to go in the car (hated it actually!) so I let Mingo Mingo went, instead. He loved it so much!!

Sad day...

Today is a sad day for the whole family. We lost both Toshio and Rudolph today.. Just this morning Rudolph starts to show improvement by eating a little bit and play with Mingo and suddenly he just died. Just like that while Toshio died in his sleep.. They were buried next to each other and by now I'm sure both already in heaven..It was a very sad funeral today..Got to make it short for now..It's too sad for all of us.. Thanks for the prayers my friends.. Thank you all..

MINGO MINGO

Isn't he cute? Mingo Mingo is the newcomer in our family.. He was involved in a car accident when a good samaritan brought him over to the SPCA, which send this poor kitten to our vet - Dr Jeya. Mommie Finn fell in love with him the moment she saw him and decided to adopt him. The SPCA staff were a little hesitant at first, as, you see, this kitty just had his front leg amputated. They scared that he can't mix with other cats in the family..Luckily Dr Jeya convinced them and they eventually gave us this kitty which we called MINGO MINGO. We really love the name! Rudolph found a new best friend - they are inseparable!! Here are some photos of Mingo Mingo.

I'm back!!

I'm back!! I spend the whole week relaxing and taking medicines and follow up check up with the vet..Oh, how I hate the antibiotics pills!! I'm feeling a lot better now. Hiro is eating well..But the weather is VERY hot nowadays..Really hot! We drank a lot of water to keep us hydrated. And Mommie Fin bought a new toy mouse for me!! I love it so much!

On our way to the vet..

Well, I got uremia, so the vet said..I went to the clinic along with Hiro ( for his follow up check). Hiro's condition is not so good as he can't control his urine. It flows all the time. It broke my heart to see Hiro like that.. We were given 2 jabs and antibiotics pills. My sickness is getting better, thank God.. I really hope Hiro will too.. Thank you so much for the purrs and prayers..It helps us a lot in time like this..

Not feeling so well...

Well, friends....I just found out that there's blood in my urine..I had difficulty in urinating as well... Not feeling so good today... will be visiting the vet tomorrow..I hope it will be OK. Mommie Finn just gave me the Transfer Factor pill mixed with water (which I hated- I don't like the taste!) but she said it works wonder on Hiro's UTI..Will be going to the vet to make sure all is well.. Bye for now...

Well, this is Chomot. These photos were taken yesterday. She was a healthy cat. But she died last night. When Mommie Fin opened the cat house this morning she found Chomot's dead body. We were so shocked over her death..What actually happen to her, none of us know.. Sunday is very close to her mother, he's the only son. And it seems Sunday is not in the mood today.. It's hard for him, I know... May she rest in peace...

Bru's recuperating...

Well friends, so sorry for the long silence..It's the monsoon season over here in Malaysia, it had been raining everywhere along with flood and storms. Internet line was at its worst! We had a new cat (stray one of course, in the house - I'll talk about her later as she just came here) Bru had been warded since last week. She lost all her teeth and now had the gums problem..She's out now but still weak. She had been sleeping the whole day and eat a little..I hope Bru will get well soon..Her daughters Pomelo and Coffee really misses her..

They Are Back!!

Thank you, thank you, thank you so much!! All the prayers and wishes works!! The 3 of them (Hiro, Coconut and Rudy) are healthier although Coconut is down with fever today.. The vet said that at first he can't guarantee on Coconut, but 9 lives, baby! All are well now.. Thank you so much my friends! Thank you so much!! And look what Mommie Finn bought us? A new scratching post and a very nice little mouse. I'm so crazy over it!!

Off to the vet

Good day my friends...
Hiro Nakamura is not feeling well. Mommie Finn found out about it yesterday when she saw Hiro's urine - it was red instead of yellow! It's not a good sign at all... As Mommie Finn will be away for the weekend she already send Hiro, Coconut and Rudy to the vet. They'll be spending the weekend there under the vet's supervision. They have lots of jabs given and hopefully all will come home safely and healthily..

Greetings everyone!! An update of the 2 little friends of mine:

As for Rudy, she's getting better. Coconut had started eating but now she lost her appetite again.. Mommie Finn bought this medicine called Fellovite II and it works on them, slowly but surely. Thank you all for the prayers and wishes, I'm very positive that they will make it, I'm sure they will!! Although a little worry on Coconut..She'll make it I hope..

It tastes like tuna. Yummy!

Not a very good week...

It's not a good week for the family..As I told you before about Coconut not feeling so well, now Rudy is in the same situation. Rudy had been very active but after Private's passing and then Coconut down with fever, now Rudy had lost her appetite and had been sulking the whole day.. Both of them are not feeling so well..Mommie Finn is quite busy tending to their needs as they are not eating at all..We need prayers for them to become healthy again..We always believed in the power of prayers..Get well soon little ones..

On behalf of Mommie Finn and the family, we would like to say thank you for all the wishes..We appreciate it all..Although it puzzled us about the death, but Mommie Finn and the rest are doing well now.. Here are some photos taken of Private right before her demise..The good times with us, although just for a while will be remembered forever..Coconut however seems to miss her sister a lot, she's not eating and having a slight fever.. The vet gave her some medicine and the rehydration salt..Please pray for her health... I'm a little worried about her..

Private is gone..

I don't know how to start this, it happened so quick..Very quick. Private was a very active cat but suddenly she just got very tired late last night, it was around 2 a.m. in the morning, so we can't bring her to the vet..When Mommie Finn was about to bring her to the vet this morning, she's limping but breathing.. And then, she'd stop breathing. Just stop.. She just stop breath ing.. We can't figure out what's wrong, it was so sudden, Private is gone. It's still a shock to all of us here, especially Mommie Finn, she cried the whole morning. Oh dear, it was so sudden.

Private with the kittens

Mommie Finn found a solution! She tried putting a loving cat for the kitties but none seems to like them..But as Private keep on coming to the cage, Mommie Finn decided to put her in, and guess what? They love her! At least Private can provide warmth and security to the kittens... Sad to inform that the yellow kitty died 2 days ago.. However, the family is trying their best to save these poor kittens. Hope they can make it..

Poor kitty..

Oh dear...Not again..Somebody put this box outside our house last night.. The sad thing is it was raining heavily last night and only this morning we saw this box, and the kitties inside all were soaking wet!! Whoever did this is not going to be at ease forever!! There are 18 of us now (with the addition of Rudy, Coconut and Private), Mommie Finn cannot afford to have more.. Anyway, Mommie Finn brought them in and feed it with milk and water. They can't stop meowing and will bundle up together to keep each other warm. It breaks our heart terribly.. Hope they can make it, at least we tried our best to help them.

Terrible Thunderstorms

We're online again, at last!! The thunderstorms damaged our phone line 2 weeks ago and we were offline since then.. The main cable was badly damaged and our internet and phone line was out! Mommie Finn went crazy without internet!! Oh, dear, thank God now everything is back to normal again!!

Well, thank you all for the hugs and prayers.. Mommie Finn is getting better now although she cried every now and then whenever we looked at Ako (as he fondly known)'s photos. That's when she decided to make a short clip of him - too long and it'll break her heart even more.. He's up there looking and smiling at us, that's for sure.. Hope he'll like it as well.. well, it had been a busy week for Mommie Finn, tending to Machiko, whose health had been deteriorating.. and sadly, he passed away just now.. She cried and cried and cried, it worries me so much.. A companion for 8 years and now he's gone, to a better place of course..I can't seems to write anymore, the pain is just too much for the whole family... Good night..

Yet another stray..

Well, we got another stray..She was found hanging around the house..She was in a terrible condition, very thin and we think she hurt her hind leg as well...Poor kitty.. She ate and drank greedily, she must be very hungry and thirsty, just how I felt when I first came to the household.. We named her Oren. Unfortunately she was too weak, she died the next day..It was so sudden, she just died, peacefully. Well, God love her more, that's for sure...may she rest in peace...

Good day my fellow friends...

Well, Hiro has not been well this week, that's why he refused to play with me..Mommie Finn brought him to the vet and he has to be warded for further observation and medication. The vet said that he suspected Hiro might be suffering from Urinary tract infection.. He was given laxatives, injection and antibiotics and was put under observation. He must be feeling lonely sleeping alone in the clinic tonight..I miss him already..I pray for him day and night and I hope that all of you can pray for his health too, please..

Finally, Mommie Fin managed to get the computer back in action..It's getting hotter nowadays, can you feel it? It's the global warming, I think..
Hiro is back in action as well..He had been getting daily exercise as he'd put on a lot of weight lately.. I'm glad he's more active now instead of spending the day with eating and sleeping. We had our daily fight indoor and tree climbing outdoor. These are some of our photos of the activities we had on a fine Tuesday today..

We lost Sunday this morning!!

It's a cozy Sunday morning and guess what? We lost our little Sunday this morning! She's not feeling so well last night and this morning we couldn't find her! Mommie Finn was so worried:( We've been searching high and low and finally, found her in the ixora bushes, sleeping soundly...Whew, thank God! She had runny nose and watery eyes, poor Sunday..She had her medicine and hope she'll be better soon. Hiro had put on weight and like to spend his time sleeping than playing with me..He gets tired fast and Sunday had been my play buddy since.. Get well soon, Sunday..

Oh dear, today Hiro asked me to join him for a tree climbing activity, which I agree. Well, I've been stuck before but I guess I just never learned, huh! This time that clever Hiro was looking for more adventures by going further up on the roof, so, as expected, I got stuck again!!Oh dear, I still have an issue with height...:(

That's quite a distance to the ground, actually...Hiro managed to get down successfully while Mommie Finn had to put the ladder and took her for almost 10 minutes to get me to the ground... A lesson learned that's for sure.....

Here's the newsletter that Mommie Finn received just now. We would like to highlight this as cruelty to animals still happen here in this country..It's terrible, really..

In light of the recent controversy surrounding DBKL, the SPCA Chairperson called for a meeting to discuss serious allegations that DBKL are strangling stray dogs and drowning cats.

The meeting was attended by Dr Hamdan bin Ahmad( Head of Animal Welfare Dept, DVS), Christine Chin, Dr Lim, Dr Suhanna, Dr Goh, Mr Krishnan, Dr Zaidi (DBKL), and Mr Chandrakahn (DBKL Pound Manager).

SPCA highlighted that this is a new era of responsibility, accountability, reality, transparency and humanity. There is nowhere to hide for animal abusers. DBKL vehemently denied the allegations and are ameniable to compliance of the DVS Guidelines for stray animal control (May 2008).

SPCA has investigated the earlier allegation in Nov 08, and also alerted DVS who contacted DBKL to get their story - there was no hard evidence of strangulation or drowning. SPCA said SPCA Klinik Kembiri @ DBKL will close in protest if the allegations prove to be true.

Copies of the Guidelines were distributed to all present at the meeting. In compliance to the guidelines that prioritized animal welfare, DBKL has agreed to;
a. get a qualified Vet to do the euthanasia of the dogs and cats once a week
b. anaesthetize aggressive and nervous dogs before putting down so as to reduce the stress inflicted on the dogs. This will incur higher costs.
c. create humane conditions for euthanizing animals e.g. a separate room
d. Attempt to rehome dogs, after being spayed or neutered by SPCA KK.
e. mandatory microchipping
f. differential licensing for neutered and unneutered dogs

The root causes of strays are irresponsible owners who allow their un-neutered dogs to roam or abandon their un-neutered dogs, and they need to be addressed and penalized via effective and sensible legislation. We also highlighted an FBI fact that animal abusers are 5 times more likely to abuse children, women and be a menace to society - so cruelty to animals hardly ends there.

Hell Holes created by MPKlang, MPKajang and MPAmpang Jaya

Recent investigations into stray dog control measures by local municipals highlighted the hell holes that stray dogs impounded are thrown into. These Municipals do not even have pounds.

MPKlang operates an inhumane and detestable "pound". MPKlang has promised over the years that they will build a new pound and stop using wires to catch stray and owners' dogs. Through the years, SPCA's letters and calls to action to MP Klang have fallen on deaf ears. MPKlang keeps the stray dogs in a truck. To SPCA's knowledge there is no food and water provided. The wires cut into the throats and bodies of dogs and puppies causing immense pain and a slow and extremely painful death. This cruelty is against the law and directly violate Section 44 Animals Act 1953 (revised 2006) - yet no changes and charges are made.

MPKajang is also another Municipal that contributes directly to the cruelty of stray and owned dogs. Stray and owners' dogs are kept in this truck. Again, we are not aware that food and water are provided. The truck is kept hidden from public view and there is no way an owner can retrieve his dog.

MPAJ also has no pound and relies on their dog-catching contractor, Vet-Fine S/B, to catch and destroy stray and owners' dogs. The dogs are kept in vans, for days without food and water. Vet-Fine S/B are implicated in many atrocities involving the capture and inhumane killing of stray and owners' dogs. SPCA has reported Vet-Fine's alleged cruelty to DVS and VAM but no action has been taken. SPCA has been verbally abused and threatened by Vet-Fine dog catchers in this process of gathering information.

Next week we will highlight other pounds, as well as contact details for each pound that you can write e-mails and letters to and voice your concerns!

Oh, dear! The computer crashed, so badly that Mummy Finn lost practically everything stored in her beloved computer!! That's why it had been a long silence...We apologize for that...She managed to find some of the photos and important documents from the backups, but that's all..Even the latest photos' gone..There's nothing the repair man can do, and eventually, gotta a new PC for herself with bigger storage and protection..

Good Wednesday everyone...

This will be my last post this week as Grandma Anna and Mommie Finn will be away for Uncle Bob's wedding. I hate to be alone again... But Parmie - our guardian will come over and feed us everyday, we love her because she fed us a lot, and I mean A LOT!!

Big Brother Machiko is sick again, he's with Dr Jeya too so he can monitor his condition. I love Machiko so much, I hope he will get better soon, I hope you can pray for my Machiko too my friends..

Wet greetings from JiMbO - the newly-appointed guardian of the hammies!!

Well, as some of you are having winter, right here the weather is not so good..It had been raining heavily for days!! Even Mommie Finn is not feeling well too. But she promised me that it will be a kitty day out on Sunday, if the weather permits, so, we're keeping our paws crossed!! As for the time being, I'll be staying indoor, and guess what? I'm officially appointed as the guardian of the hammies!!! Yay, to me!! Well, my mommie Finn has 3 hamsters, Deco, Remy, and Emille. The last time she had the guardian it was Ruffio, she passed away last year, though...According to Hiro it took her months to overcome the sadness of losing Ruffio.

She's one pretty gal...

Not long after that she lost Gimli the hamster too... He's 5.

So, for me to become the guardian of the new hammies, well, I'm honoured!! I guess I'm already fit and trusted enough with these little ones.. I will do them no harm, that's for sure!! :D

My stitches are out!!

Yippeee!! My stitches are out now! Funny, because I'm feeling extra active, extra mischievous, and extra hungry too!! I guess it's the phase that I'm going through after spaying, huh!!

And, to make it even better, we just won a bag of gift from Whiskas for the contest we entered few months ago!! Isn't it awesome?!!

I'm back!!

Wow, what a week!! I'm getting better, not much appetite though but I'm recuperating along with my buddy Bru. We went to the vet on Saturday. My vet, the caring Dr Jeya perform the op on me on that day as I've been fasting since the night before while Bru was operated on Sunday. We went home on Sunday evening with Bru still groggy and sedated. She can even bite me while we were in the cage:(

A very good day to everyone!! Welcome to my newly built blog. We're a family of 15 cats and counting. Let me personalize myself. I am Jimbo, a female stray adopted by a family of 3. I don't have any idea who my parents were, let alone my birthday. I was found in their compound in the middle of the night and was nearly hit by the car of the owner of the house; I guess this is where my nine lives came in handy :D

This is me when they let me in for the first time into their house.

Spot any difference?

Fitting in was the hardest part. Luckily I have Hiro Nakamura (cool name, why mine's only Jimbo?) who guide me around the house and gave me advices on how to mix and blending around the seniors. Hiro mixes very well with the rest of the cats (which were 11 at that time). There are 2 groups of them, the Indoors and the Outdoors. The former stays outdoor while the latter vice versa. Hiro's job (according to him) is to ease down the tension between these 2 groups and also to educate the indoors (including newbie Jimbo) the cats' basic needs and skills. He's one cool brother! Thank you Bro! This is him.

And this is one of the trouble he always got me into. This is his so-called "Back to Nature" adventure..Thanks Hiro, I'm stuck again up here...
